Art is Life
About Me
Born a Bahamian-Haitian immigrant Artist Ansil has led pretty rough and tumble life, but she’s learned to appreciate people for who they are, and to see the beauty in things that others don’t tend to recognize.
Forced to take care of herself and her brothers at an early age, she had to grow up quick and learn to be cunning. Enduring violence from delinquent school teachers, and being put in near death situations too many times to count, she made it out of situations alive with the help her brothers and other allies she’s met along the way. Her children play big part of her strength and struggles as well.
Some of her lyrics may sound somewhat esoteric, because she learned Haitian Creole and English together, so she’s constantly translating back and forth in her head.
